Backup and Recovery

check_backup

Description:

check_backup checks for backups, if they have been archived or not.
It reads a list from a file and checks if those backups have been stored into the backup server.
Also a size check is performed: if the backup does not reach the specified size, a critical status is returned.
My environ is this:
nagios running on CentOS
backup server’s disk is mounted from nagios
nagios runs this plugin every 30 mins, retry is 5 mins, alert after 3 times.
Suggestions are appreciated.

December 2014 CHANGELOG:
now able to check periodic backups, not only daily.
You can specify the day of the week the backup is supposed to arrive, or you can just use “all” if is a daily backup.
