This tool will update a database in near real-time with host and service status. It works by reading the nagios.log and updating the database according. When first started, it will read the entire log, after which it will only notice updates. Every time it is re-started, it will reload the entire log file. Also, it is fully capable of handling logfile switches, though it may take up to 30 seconds to notice the switch. As written, it only support MySQL, but switching it to another DB backend should be trivial. Planned enhancements include a configuration file which would allow you to specify the DB and DSN. It comes bundled with a tool to allow programmtic manipulation of Nagios through cmd.cgi.
