The check_mythtv plugin connects to the mythbackend process to make sure its running. It reports the status of the tuners and checks to see how much program guide is available.

MythTV (http://www.mythtv.org) is an Open Source Linux DVR/Home Theatre application. The heart of MythTV is the mythbackend daemon, and this plugin can be used to monitor it.

I made several minor changes to make it work with nagios 3, I also coded it to detect if nagios is located in /usr/lib/nagios/plugins or in /usr/local/nagios/libexec Please note, you need XML::Simple installed in perl for this to work.
