Project Notes
The plugin uses Compaq/HPs Insight Manager SNMP Agents installed on either Windows or Linux machines to check CPUs, fans, array controllers, logical / physical drives, temperature and power supplies on your Proliant servers or blade systems. Compaq MIBs are included in the attached archive. The new version 2 is a complete rewrite in Perl and only uses the OID-Trees, so you don't need to add the Compaq MIBs to your local configuration. Please do not misread the "-d" parameter as i guess jleonard78 did. The "-d" parameter stands for "DEBUG" and is not intended for production use inside Nagios! check_hp_agents will give you information about which object failed if there is any. Release 2.3 just got some documentation updates about the package requirements. Release 2.4 has been renamed, comes with a ChangeLog file and is now under version control.

Nice, but still needs some work

Hi there, i tested this plugin and though it's nice, it still needs some work IMHO. I tested it against a server which in it's windows event log reported the following: Drive Array Accelerator Battery Failed. The array accelerator board attached to the array controller in Slot 0 is reporting a battery failure. [SNMP TRAP: 3040 in CPQIDA.MIB] Unfortunatly the plugin reported that everything was OK. I am also a big fan of performance data output, like the check_openmanage plugin for dell systems has.
